Education Assistance Fund:
We have recently launched an Education Assistance Fund so as to help those bright students of the community, whose parents’ financial position does not permit their education. The fund has been launched with initial contributions from the Members of the Executive Committe, and will be further augmented with 50% of the monthly subscription having being earmarked for the purpose. Some prominent members of the community have already offered their fiscal contributions to the fund, and we are looking forward to more offers from affordable philanthropists. Applications on plain paper are invited for education assistance giving therein the financial background of the applicant as well as the academic record of students. Institution of Medical fund is also in the offing.

Recognition to Genext:   NSS Vidarbha firmly believes that the most precious wealth is education, and that the talented genext has much in store for the betterment of the community in years to come.   The wards of few of our community members have left remarkable foot prints in the field of education.    To encourage such children to further excel, NSS has been felicitating meritorious wards of its member every year, during Onam Celebrations.

Members’ Family Directory:   The only forum to facilitate inter-member communication was the periodical gatherings arranged by the Society from time to time.    Those who could not make it for the gathering used to lose this opportunity.     Hence, NSS Vidarbha felt the need to bring out Members’ Family Directory.    During the 131st  Mannam Jayanthi Celebrations, family directory was released. An updated version of the same is available at this site.  With rapid increase in the membership base, the Society shall bring out updated directory in another year or two.    All those who hail from Nair Community and reside within the geographical jurisdiction of Vidarbha and  are eager to enroll themselves are welcome to fill up the accompanying application form and forward to the General Secretary at Society’s office at the address given below.

Website & Periodical news bulletin:   Launching this website is yet another step to communicate to the Society’s member of various schemes launched by it.    It also serves as an interactive medium for the members to give their feed back and comments as well as innovative tips for further betterment of the Society and welfare of its members.     We hope, all members will take maximum advantage of this facility.    Apart from this, we will soon be launching quarterly news bulletin which will help all members update themselves of various projects/schemes launched  by the society.

Issue of Members’Identity Card:   During our interactive sessions with local corporate sector, we had mooted a proposal to allow some discount to our members on their goods and services.    Few hospitals, diagnostic centers as well as departmental stores etc. have offened discounts as furnished in this site.     Similarly, sister units of NSS functioning elsewhere have also expressed their willingness to render all possible services to our members as and when needed on their visit to their respective bases.    With this in mind, we are today launching issue of identity cards to our members on smart card format.

Launching Mahila Vedi:
Active participation of better halfs has been eluding so far.    NSS Vidarbha strongly believes that no amount of activities can assume perfection unless its woman folk and youth are involved in various activities.     To start with, a Mahila Vedi  (Ladies’ Wing) has been formed and Youth Wing will follow.
